About Our School
What Makes Us Special!
Thank you for considering Utterback as your middle school. We are a proud 6-8 grade campus with so much to offer your student.
Your student will have a seven period schedule every day. This will include the four main content courses along with three electives. Our teachers build relationships with their students and encourage them to do their best. We want the students to have a safe and positive day while at school and still be pushed in their academics. We have a bell to bell teaching model that maximizes your students' time in their classes. We offer rigorous, relevant, and engaging lessons, and all of our teachers believe that every single student can succeed.
Some things that set us apart from other schools; we have nine different electives for your students to choose from, plus two intervention classes. Our electives range from dance and drama to lego tech and computers. One of our electives is AVID, which is a college and career readiness program. This is our sixth year of having AVID on our campus and we are the first and only AVID site of distinction in TUSD. We are also the only OMA Middle School, where we incorporate the arts into our content classes. We truly believe there is something for everyone here at Utterback.
