The Unicorns had a great send-off with family and friends from the Fox Theatre on May 23. Several people got a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congressman Raul Grijalva's office, including a surprise one for Principal Taranika Sanders. Rep. Juan Ciscomani delivered a video address and talked about being a graduate of both Utterback and Rincon High School.

Utterback Middle School has been named an AVID Demonstration School! Hosting the AVID team for a tour to share the exciting news highlights the hard work and passion that Utterback has invested in creating a supportive and college-bound environment. With only three AVID Demonstration schools in the entire state of Arizona, Utterback's accomplishment speaks volumes about the school's commitment to empowering students and preparing them for success in both college and future careers through the transformative AVID program.
